Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using WordSpy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms apply to all users of WordSpy, including players on any supported platform (iOS and Android).

WordSpy is a local, offline social party game intended for personal, non-commercial entertainment. By using the App, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes.

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App
• Reproduce, redistribute, or resell the App or its content in any form
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its systems
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

All content within WordSpy — including but not limited to the game design, word pairs, graphics, animations, text, code, and user interface — is the exclusive property of the developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on your personal device solely for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

This licence does not grant you any rights to the App's intellectual property beyond what is expressly stated here.

WordSpy offers optional premium word packs as one-time in-app purchases ("IAP"). By making a purchase, you agree to the following:

• Payment: All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) under their respective payment terms. We do not handle payment directly.
• Non-refundable: All in-app purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google through their standard refund processes.
• Restore Purchases: If you reinstall the App or switch devices, use the "Restore Purchases" option in Settings to recover your previously purchased packs using the same Apple ID or Google account.
• Entitlement: Purchased packs are tied to your Apple ID or Google account, not to a specific device. Purchases cannot be transferred between accounts.
• Content delivery: Premium packs are delivered digitally and become available immediately upon successful purchase verification.
• Price changes: Prices are set in the App Store / Google Play and may change at any time. Purchases you have already made are unaffected.

WordSpy's standard content is suitable for players aged 10 and above. The "After Dark" word pack contains mature themes intended for adult players (18+).

The After Dark pack is locked by default and requires explicit opt-in through the Settings screen. By unlocking this content, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors' use of the App and ensuring the After Dark content remains locked if appropriate.

WordSpy is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind — either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
• Any defects or errors will be corrected
• The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer of WordSpy be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or any other intangible losses.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for in-app purchases through the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

WordSpy integrates with certain third-party services (such as Mixpanel for analytics and Expo for app delivery). Your use of the App is also subject to those third parties' terms of service and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party services linked to or used within the App.

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. Updates may be delivered automatically via Expo's over-the-air update system.

We may also modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the competent courts of the developer's jurisdiction.
